- To install the Palo Alto Networks GlobalProtect VPN client on an unmanaged Mac computer (Northeastern-owned or personal), you will need to have local admin access. If you do not currently have this access on a Northeastern-owned computer, you can submit a Local Admin Request through the ServiceNow portal (sign-in may be required).

In order to download and install the GlobalProtect VPN client, please visit: https://vpn.northeastern.edu
Log in with your NUnet username and password. Your NUnet username is the one you enter when you log on to a network computer. You can sync your NUnet and myNortheastern usernames and passwords by going to myNortheastern, clicking on Account Settings and following the directions for changing your password. Once you have done that your username and password will be the same.
Click the link Download the Mac 32/64 bit client GlobalProtect agent to begin the download process.
Once the file has downloaded, double-click the package icon.
After the Installer opens, select Continue.
On the next screen select the locations where you would like to install the software, then select Continue.
For installation select the checkbox for GlobalProtect.
Confirm the installation location, then select Install.
Administrative privileges are required – enter the username and password for your computer to make the changes.
Installation is complete, select Close.
The GlobalProtect VPN client has now been installed on your computer.
The GlobalProtect application can be found under Applications and on the top menu bar (there will be a small globe icon)
The VPN setup window will now be visible. Follow the setup instructions.
NOTE: To remove the client, repeat the process and select Uninstall GlobalProtect.
