Adobe Creative Cloud provides digital media creation and design-related software applications and services, including Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Animate, Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Muse. Creative Cloud applications work seamlessly with one another, and with Adobe Creative Cloud Mobile applications when linked through your Enterprise Adobe ID.

NOTE: Once you go through the process described below – you choose from Adobe’s Creative Cloud portal what Creative Cloud applications to fully install on your computer. Because some apps have other apps as dependencies, Adobe will automatically install those dependencies, even if you don’t select them, so the app you chose will work. When new versions of the Creative Cloud products are downloaded they will seamlessly update any existing versions installed on your computer. Cloud-based storage is an option to store your Creative Cloud files and other assets via Adobe’s Creative Cloud Portal.

Access

  • Northeastern-managed faculty/staff computers: Faculty/staff managed computers have access to Adobe’s Creative Cloud Portal through the Creative Cloud Application found in Software Center (Windows) and Self Service (Mac running OS 10.9+). This application must be installed on Northeastern-managed computers to allow all Adobe products on the Adobe Creative Cloud Portal to be installed on your computer even if you don’t have administrative rights on your computer. As a faculty or staff member, after you get to the Adobe Creative Cloud Portal, you must sign in to the Enterprise Adobe Creative Cloud account with your @northeastern.edu email address. Once you click the password field you will be prompted to choose an account. Select Enterprise ID. You will then be redirected to the Northeastern login page where you will need to enter your @northeastern.edu username and password – the same way you log in to Office 365
    • NOTE: If you have an Adobe Creative Cloud application currently installed on your computer, the license may have expired on September 15, 2017. In order to reactivate the installed Creative Cloud applications you can just sign-in to the Adobe’s Creative Cloud Portal using your @northeastern.edu email address and then provide your @northeastern.edu username and password.  However, the most effective method to set up your Adobe Creative Cloud for Northeastern-managed computers is to use the Creative Cloud Application from Software Center or Self-Service and follow the directions to log into your Enterprise Adobe Creative Cloud account.
  • Unmanaged Northeastern-owned and Faculty/staff personal computers: For unmanaged or personal computers faculty and staff must go to the Adobe Creative Cloud Portal and create an account.
    • Once you get to Adobe’s Creative Cloud Portal, sign in with your @northeastern.edu email address. Once you click the password field you will be prompted to choose an account. Select Enterprise ID. You will then be redirected to the Northeastern login page where you will need to enter your @northeastern.edu username and password – the same way you log in to Office 365.
    • When you create your Adobe account you will get two active licenses which you may use on your office and/or home computers. If you want to have these products on a third device, you may do that, but one of the two active licenses will be reassigned by Adobe to the new device. You do not get to choose which device Adobe removes the license from. You can access Creative Cloud again on the device that no longer has an active license by going through the Adobe login process on that device.
    • If you have an Adobe Creative Cloud application currently installed on your computer, the license may have expired on September 15, 2017.  In order to reactivate the installed Creative Cloud applications you can sign in to the Adobe’s Creative Cloud Portal using your @northeastern.edu email address and then provide your @northeastern username and password.
    • Students may still purchase Creative Cloud from Academic Software Center on myNortheastern. Availability of this software title from Academic Software Center is not through a Northeastern site license or campus agreement with Adobe, and is therefore subject to change at any time. NOTE: To use the third-party vendor’s system on a Mac, the supported browser is Safari.
  • ITS-managed computer labs: Adobe Creative Cloud products are installed on all Windows machines, and on Macs running OS 10.9+, making them available for faculty, staff, and students to use.
    • NOTE: The Creative Cloud applications installed on lab machines use a serialized license that does not allow signing in with your Adobe ID. Under the university’s Enterprise agreement with Adobe, students are only allowed to use Creative Cloud on lab machines utilizing the serialized license.

Registering Multiple Devices

  • When you create your Adobe account, you are entitled to two active licenses, which you may use simultaneously on your office and/or home computers. If you want to have these products on a third device, you may do that, but one of your two active licenses will be reassigned by Adobe to the new device.
  • You do not get to choose which device Adobe removed the license from.  You can access Creative Cloud again on the device that no longer has an active license by going through the original Adobe login process for that device.

Access options no longer available

  • Adobe Creative Cloud applications are no longer available from the Service Desk for local installation on unmanaged university-owned computers.
  • Adobe Creative Cloud is no longer available from the faculty and staff Home Use Program previously on Free and Discounted Software on myNortheastern. If you purchased this product previously, you will continue to have access for one year from the date of purchase at which time you can access the free version from the Adobe Portal.
