As a part of HuskyCable HDplus, Northeastern University’s internet protocol television (IPTV) service is provided through a partnership with Comcast and delivered through the XFINITY Stream™ portal. This service offers online access to 200 broadcast and premium channels, as well as on-demand content. This service is only available to students living in university-owned residence halls.


XFINITY On Campus includes:

  • Live streaming TV – including all of the network and cable channels that are part of the campus TV package through HuskyCable HD
  • Video on Demand (VOD) – with the best selection of current shows and hit movies
  • XFINITY Stream™ subscriptions services, including a choice of five premium channels and the Sports Entertainment Package – additional monthly fee
  • An interactive programming guide


Boston On-Campus Students only

Northeastern students living on campus in university-owned residence halls have access to IPTV, which is included in the room rate as part of the HuskyCable HDplus service. Service is automatically available – simply log into the XFINITY Stream™ portal using your myNortheastern username and password. Access is tied to residential student status, so once you move out of a university-owned residence hall, you will no longer have access to the XFINITY Stream™ portal.

Students may elect to subscribe to select premium channels, such as Showtime and Cinemax, or the Sports Entertainment Package for an additional monthly fee. There is no contract, and subscriptions can be cancelled online at any time. All paid subscriptions are handled directly by Comcast.


Get Started

XFINITY Stream™ is currently available for viewing on Windows and Mac computers as well as devices running either iOS or Android OS. Details about the minimum system requirements can be found in the IPTV – FAQs page. Computers should access the XFINITY Stream™ player through the latest version of Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox or Google Chrome. The most recent version of Adobe Flash is also required. XFINITY Stream™ can be accessed through the XFINITY Stream™ app, available for iOS and Android in their respective app stores. The app is the only way to access content on an Apple device, as the browser version of the XFINITY Stream™ player requires Adobe Flash to run, which Apple devices do not support.

NOTE: The full viewing experience is only available on campus; residential students must be connected to a Northeastern network such as ResNet or NUwave. Limited off-campus access is available, however only select live TV and On Demand content is available due to individual content provider agreements with Comcast. Inaccessible content will be grayed out off campus.

Up to three devices may be registered at a time, however only one device will be able to stream content at a time. If you register a fourth device, the first one you registered will be disconnected.

XFINITY Stream™ is supplied by Comcast and is available 24x7 except for planned outages. In the event of an unexpected outage, ITS will work with Comcast to restore service.
