Get more details about Northeastern’s use of response devices on the
Academic Technology Services Classroom Response website
Classroom response technologies provide an alternative method in the classroom to engage students while also providing real-time assessment of student comprehension. For most uses, Northeastern recommends Poll Everywhere. Poll Everywhere, available free of charge for students and faculty, may be used in the online and on-ground classroom. Because different faculty rely on a variety of different features to support their teaching styles, we offer limited training and integration support for faculty who choose one of several other student response technologies, including TurningPoint Cloud and Top Hat. These software solutions are integrated with Blackboard.
Using this software, faculty can create polls and quizzes on the fly. Students in courses using response systems have the option to respond with laptops, tablets, i.e., any web-enabled mobile device using browsers or applications. Rosters and grades can be integrated with Blackboard. Click on the ATS Classroom Response website to see a comparison of the different classroom response applications available.
