Any member of the Northeastern community may request audio-visual equipment at Northeastern University’s Boston campus for use in the classroom, within Snell Library or for special events. The ITS staff also offers technical assistance for individuals as needed, and conducts training sessions on the use of technology installed in classrooms for presentations.

Equipment Loan

The Help & Information Desk, located on the second floor of the Snell Library, provides faculty, staff and students with media equipment and technical support for both classroom instructional activities, and university-related functions and events.

Equipment loans – including portable items such as digital video cameras, LCD projectors, microphones and laptops – are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional details can be found on the Equipment Checkout service page.


Classroom Equipment Operating Instructions and Photos

  • Instructions for operating the technologies installed in Boston campus classrooms are available in the classrooms
  • Before going to a room, you can get instructions, images and more information on individual rooms across campus by visiting the View the Classroom site. You will need to sign in with your myNortheastern username and password to view detailed information.
  • You will find information on lecture capture, student response systems, or other teaching technologies on the Academic Technology Services website.

Classroom Technology Equipment Training

Academic Technology Services provides training for the installed classroom media and computer equipment. In 212 SL, there is a standard classroom equipment configuration where you can learn how to use the ceiling-mounted projector with your own laptop computer or with the installed media players, the instructor’s computer with touchscreen monitor, and Lecture Capture or other teaching technologies.
