Communicating with your friends, family and fellow students is now easier than ever. Students can now use Skype for Business to chat, call or video conference while on campus or anywhere in the world.

Communicate using messaging, voice calls, and video calls, and let people know your availability with your online status when using Skype for Business. Share presence, messaging, and audio calling with Skype users.

It is available to students on and off campus for a range of collaboration activities, including instant messaging, presence information, AV/Web conferencing, whiteboarding, screen sharing, application sharing and file transfers. Skype for Business integrates with other Microsoft applications to make collaborative work easier.

Access

Skype for Business is available to all faculty, staff and students.

For faculty and staff it is included on all Northeastern-configured Windows machines. Skype for Business is available for Windows 32-bit and 64-bit systems through the myNortheastern portal under Software Downloads.

For students Skype for Business is available as part of the Microsoft Student Advantage program utilizing Office 365.

To install or log into Office 365 products you MUST use your Office 365 username: [myNortheastern username]@northeastern.edu

Northeastern-configured Macs can install Skype for Business through Self-Service. Additionally, it is available through the myNortheastern portal under Software Downloads.
