ITS has been working diligently over the summer to add and update software packages for the Northeastern community. Learn more about each of these updates below.

Adobe Creative Cloud

If you installed an Adobe Creative Cloud application on a Northeastern ITS-owned computer prior to September 1, 2017, the license will expire on November 31, 2018. In order to reactivate the Creative Cloud applications, you will need to download the latest version on the Adobe Creative Cloud Portal. For information on how to initiate this process, visit the ITS page on Adobe Creative Cloud. Please note that this will override the current version of Adobe on your device.

In addition, all computer labs have had their Adobe software updated to 2018 versions.

SAS

The university has added Enterprise Miner, a data mining software, and Text Miner, a text mining software for unstructured data, to its SAS offerings.

AutoCAD Products

AutoCAD Products 2016 and 2017 are now available for imaged machines.

Aspen Plus

Version 10 of Aspen Plus, which is a chemical process simulation software used for teaching and instruction, is now available for faculty/staff Northeastern-managed PC devices.

Maple

Maple 2018, which is a mathematics-based software used for teaching and instruction, is now available. Faculty, staff, and students can install the software on their personal machines. Maple 2018 is also available on non-ITS managed, university-owned machines.

Respondus LockDown Browser

Version 2.0.3.03 of Respondus LockDown Browser, which is used for taking tests in Blackboard, is now available on faculty/staff Northeastern-managed PC devices.

Additional titles will become available as they are tested and deployed. Check the Available Software charts for Faculty/Staff Standard Configuration or Labs, Classrooms and Individual Access to find the title you wish to use.

Need help or to get a re-image?

If you are a faculty or staff member on a managed computer and are not seeing the latest software updates in Start or Software Center on Windows, or in Applications of Self Service on Mac, you may want to consider having your computer re-faculty/staff Northeastern-managed.

For information on re-imaging your computer, search the ServiceNow Knowledge Base (located within the “Services and Links” tab of the myNortheastern portal under “IT Help and Services”) for “reimage,” or contact the ITS Service Desk at 617.373.4357 (xHELP) or help@northeastern.edu. We are more than happy to assist getting you on board with the newest versions available.
