Your Northeastern ID (login and password) is private information. Protect them as you would your Social Security number, banking information, or other important and confidential data.
The criteria for a myNortheastern password are:
- At least 12 characters
- Must include characters from 3 of these 4 groups: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters such as ~!@#$%^&*()_+=-`{}[]|\:”;'<>,.?/
- Should not contain your name, email address, or other personally-identifying information.
The best passwords are those that do not contain dictionary words or quotes from published works. (Hackers have access to Shakespeare and the Bible, too.) It should be something you can remember, but no one close to you could guess — so avoid using your favorite sports teams or band names.
