As part of ongoing efforts to celebrate and recognize great team members, the IT Leadership Team has promoted four ITS staff members, effective Sept. 23, 2022. These promotions recognize the ongoing work and contributions of these colleagues. They also demonstrate ITS’s commitment to helping its most consistently high-performing team members continue to grow and thrive.

Kacie Harkins – Director, IT Project Management Office
Kacie joined the ITS Leadership Team earlier this year as a senior leader with a particular focus on program and project delivery and has continued to improve the overall maturity of both functions. She’s responsible for leading projects and programs that deliver solutions that meet both the business and technology needs of the university and are relevant to the strategy of the organization. Most recently, Kacie has enhanced tracking and reporting efforts, working with ITS Leadership and leaders from other parts of the university to report on the value that the PMO and IT-oriented initiatives provide to the institution.

Nate Monks – Lead, Research Security and Support (Burlington)
Over the past year, Nate split his time between the Customer Experience team and the Office of Information Security to support implementation of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) program at Northeastern. As a result of this promotion, Nate now provides dedicated, on-premise technical and security support to researchers and staff at the Burlington campus in partnership with the vice provost for research’s operations. His institutional knowledge, specialized domain expertise, and past excellence in providing personalized, white-glove technical support places him in a position to immediately provide the required support in Burlington.

James Rota – Senior Service Desk Analyst
James has stepped up to lead afterhours Customer Experience operations, overseeing the full-time and student staff who work those shifts. He has successfully performed in this role for over a year now, and consistent with the CX team’s defined responsibilities of a senior service desk analyst. Additionally, James has helped support and onboard the Oakland IT team during the start of the semester. His attention to detail and customer focus have made him a tremendous asset for account and access issues.

Chris White – Manager, Application Development Services
Chris has demonstrated the technical leadership skills needed to manage a small, but growing development team. He’s currently leading the cross-functional effort between ITS and the Corporate Partnership Network to integrate NUworks Co-op placement data into Salesforce. In his new role, Chris oversees the NUworks and EPAM applications and cross-trains the teams in both these areas to strengthen and better support both products. He serves as a technical liaison to the career services/co-op and research enterprise (NU-RES) business teams to understand requirements, prioritize work, and manage the resources to implement and deliver best-in-class solutions.

Congratulations to these colleagues on this well-earned recognition!
