Reviewing Assignments, Grades, and Feedback in Canvas
The Grades page in Canvas is the place to review all current course assignments, grades and scoring details, comments, and feedback—and grades can be filtered by grading period! For guidance navigating the page, see How do I view my grades and rubric feedback as a student in Canvas? For added convenience, you can log in to Canvas on your mobile device.
New Service Portal for Facilities Launched
Planning, Real Estate, and Facilities, which maintains and improves Northeastern’s facilities and grounds, has launched a new service portal for increased visibility and easier access to report an emergency or to submit a work order or service request. The portal and services are accessible from Northeastern’s service platform at service.northeastern.edu and through the Now Mobile app.
Cybersecurity Awareness Month Recap
Northeastern celebrated Cybersecurity Awareness Month in October. During Data Destruction Day, the Office of Information Security facilitated the safe, secure, and sustainable destruction of old, data-bearing devices and paper files. There were also two illuminating panel discussions with faculty from Khoury College of Computer Sciences covering questions including how to maintain online data privacy and just how much your smart speakers know about you. These sessions are available for streaming to all within the Northeastern community. Enhancements to the Hub
The Student Hub introduced several enhancements that improve your experience. Students can now review service requests from IT, Student Financial Services, and Office of Global Services on the Student Hub homepage via My Service Requests, a new widget located alongside the My Documents and My Email widgets. Other improvements include behavior changes to the Resources page’s search function and to the Notifications menu, and an updated footer that allows easy access to the university’s social media accounts, among other links.
Log in to the Student Hub at me.northeastern.edu to begin using the new widget and to experience the upgrades.
Keeping Your Accounts Safe and Secure
As shared with all students earlier this month, the university recently updated and expanded its Duo two-factor authentication to additional Northeastern services and systems to better protect you and your data. This expansion significantly increased account security and helps reduce the risk of compromised accounts.
