Effective June 3, 2024, Jennifer Brant-Gargan joins Northeastern University as chief information officer and vice president for information technology, bringing a deep and diverse background in digital transformation and technology leadership.
As CIO, Jennifer will serve as a member of the Global Network Leadership Team and lead the Office of the CIO and ITS Leadership Teams. She’ll work directly with university leadership and serve as an integral advisor and partner in advancing the university’s academic plan and enhancing and expanding Northeastern’s global technological capabilities. She’ll be responsible for setting the strategic roadmap for the university’s technology initiatives, ensuring the security of data and enterprise systems and the delivery of digital solutions to every facet and audience of the institution.
Jennifer brings a wealth of experience in IT leadership, including tenure at global organizations such as Bacardi-Martini, Estee Lauder Companies, Viacom, and Nike Inc. Most recently, she held the position of global chief information officer at Bacardi in London, where she spearheaded a transformative digital agenda focused on revenue growth through innovation and a consumer-centric approach. Prior to this, she served as vice president and technology lead at Estee Lauder.
Throughout her tenure, Jennifer has been instrumental in crafting and implementing comprehensive technology strategies aimed at optimizing operations, fostering efficiency, and driving growth. Notably, she played a pivotal role at both Bacardi and Estee Lauder in transitioning disparate systems to a cohesive platform approach. Her leadership also encompassed the development and deployment of advanced AI-driven applications for internal and external stakeholders.
