Sponsored accounts are essential for providing temporary access to university-related academic and administrative work at Northeastern. Recognizing the importance of these roles, ITS has continuously worked to improve the sponsored accounts process.
Since the new account process launched in November 2023, feedback from the community has led to several recent improvements, further streamlining and simplifying the experience.
Expanded sponsorship capabilities
One of the most significant changes is that any existing faculty and staff member can now request and sponsor an account. Previously, this capability was limited to faculty and staff who manage employees. This change ensures that the process is more inclusive and accessible to a broader range of university personnel who require these types of accounts.
ServiceNow dashboard enhancements
Additionally, enhancements to the sponsored account dashboard allow sponsors and sponsored accounts to manage more aspects of the account, including changing the title or email address. This improvement provides greater flexibility and control, making it easier to maintain accurate and up-to-date information.
Bulk upload feature
Another notable enhancement is the ability to request multiple accounts at a time by uploading a list. This bulk upload feature is particularly helpful for those who need to create a large number of accounts at the same time. This feature will be available ahead of the spring 2025 term.
These enhancements reflect ITS’s commitment to supporting the diverse needs of the university community and ensuring that everyone has the necessary tools to succeed in their roles.
