ITS rolled out an upgraded Microsoft Office 365 (O365) experience to Northeastern faculty, staff, and students last semester. These updates help users work even more closely and collaboratively with colleagues and classmates. In the coming months, we’ll be sharing more news and providing even more support to accompany these tools.

As part of this upgrade, the community received access to the latest features in the O365 suite, including audio and video meetings through Microsoft Teams and the actionable, dynamic, and engaging data dashboards that come with Power BI.

Additionally, faculty and staff now have a phone bridge for conference calls through Microsoft Teams, customizable online scheduling pages with Bookings, and insights into their work habits with MyAnalytics.

Project Online, the professional project management application for creating project plans, assigning tasks, and tracking progress and budget, is the latest addition to the O365 lineup. All faculty, staff, and students received access to Project Online alongside the rest of their O365 applications just this month.

To start using the O365 apps available to you, log in to your O365 web portal. Your username is your myNortheastern username followed by “@northeastern.edu” (ie: kinghusky@northeastern.edu). Students should particularly take note to use this username instead of their husky email addresses for O365 access. Everybody should use their myNortheastern password to log in to O365 services.

More O365 News To Come

Whether you are relatively new to O365 or trying to use one of its advanced features, ITS wants you to get the most out of your experience. We have created a website for you to learn more about the O365 services and support at Northeastern. Explore all of the applications available to you and the training and other resources that we’ve compiled to get you started.

Happy collaborating!
