For a limited time beginning this September, you can experience augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and 360 degree video at Snell Library. This pilot program, which we’re calling the AR/VR/360 Pop-Up Lab, is located in the Discovery Lab at 138B Snell (near ARGO Tea). It is open to visitors with or without experience in using these technologies. ITS also plans to host a variety of activities throughout the year in this space.

The lab is outfitted with HTC VIVE and Oculus Rift. It also has three VR-ready computers for content development and viewing. Additionally, Samsung Gear 360 cameras are available through the ITS service desk.

For more information about the pop-up lab, visit the Discovery Lab website. At the website, users can book equipment in the lab for projects or join the official mailing list to stay updated about the project. Visitors can also reserve lab space for projects if needed.

If you are a faculty or staff member looking to find out more information about integrating this new technology into your work, please email ats@northeastern.edu to set up a consultation.
