Canvas at your fingertips
Canvas is Northeastern’s learning management system and digital home base for course content, assignments, and communication. Set yourself up for success this semester by following these tips:
- Familiarize yourself with Canvas and personalize your account. Start by logging in to Canvas, select Account, choose Settings, and then select Edit Settings. From here, edit your display name, add your pronouns, or change your time zone if you’re outside of Eastern Time. You can even add a picture to help your instructors and classmates get to know you better!
- Take Canvas on the go by downloading the mobile app, ensuring you’re always ready to access your course materials, view grades, submit assignments, participate in discussions, and send messages.
- Personalize your notifications. Choose to be notified immediately, receive a daily summary, a weekly summary or even turn off notifications for specific course activities such as due dates, announcements, grading, or discussions.
- Never miss an event, assignment, or appointment by syncing your Canvas calendar to Outlook.
Connect and collaborate on Microsoft Teams
Whether it’s for a class, a group project, or any other reason you have to collaborate, make the most of your learning experience by downloading Microsoft Teams. Teams is the digital hub that brings conversations, content, and apps together in one place. Get started by exploring what Microsoft Teams has to offer and start experiencing Teams today.

Connect to Tech is your go-to guide for understanding key technology resources, connecting to the internet, and accessing helpful sites. Take a moment to find the resources you need to personalize your learning, maximize productivity, and work collaboratively.
An upgraded Adobe Creative Cloud experience
This year, Northeastern has upgraded to the Pro Edition of Adobe Creative Cloud. This upgrade provides access to unlimited stock downloads, Adobe Substance 3D tools, creative apps and services, and more. Students can request free access by visiting adobe.northeastern.edu.
